The Kerkhoff Group began in 1968 as J.C. Kerkhoff and Sons Construction. The original business activity included new home construction, renovations and subcontracting to other home builders. In the 1970’s the business expanded to include construction of warehouses, restaurants, schools, etc.

During the real estate boom years in British Columbia of 1979 to the end of 1981 volume rose to $20 million annually. When the real-estate market collapsed, the focus changed to government funded projects such as: hospitals, courthouses as well as civil engineering projects including bridges roads etc. The company expanded geographically, and constructed projects in Alberta, Ontario and the U.S.A. By 1987 annual volume had reached $75 million dollars.

During the '90s, the emphasis shifted away from general contracting to real estate development. In addition to the local market, projects have also been undertaken in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Germany and California in the period from 1995-2002.

Today, under the direction of Bill Kerkhoff, the company continues to seek out development opportunities for partners/investors and takes on the role of development and construction manager, as well as project managers and contractors for specialty projects such as church facilities.

In addition to real estate development, the company also undertakes project management and contracting for projects such as churches, resorts and apartments.
